Many Members, One Body, One Source (my meanderings)

Went down to the water today with my dogs. A beautiful sunny day. While the dogs played, I slipped my mala off my wrist and began a "so hum" meditation. As I came to my guru bead, I began to contimplate God. God in everything and everyone. How the one source joins us everyone and everything. I recalled a prayer Jesus had prayed, "Father make them one even as we are one."(John 17:20-23) Another scripture says, "the body is a unit, though it is made up of many parts; and though all its parts are many, they form one body. (ICor.12:12) Thinking on this my mind turned to conversations I'd had recently about the differences we have one from another. Politics. Religion. Whether or not white is appropriate after Labor Day. There are ideas and viewpoints I strongly disagree with. But to hate or be hateful toward someone you disagree with?... Lao Tzu says, "To attact another is to attact oneself." We are all one. Separation is only an illusion. When I look across a room at someone I seem to be in conflict with, I'm looking at myself. "Love your neighbor as yourself," that's only possible when you realize that you and your neighbor are one. Many members, one body, one source.
